The Scotland international faces a decision on his future after a tough season with Bologna

Midfielder Lewis Ferguson has already dropped a major hint over his “dream” next move as murmurs over a Bologna exit gather pace.
And while his uncle Barry has admitted he would love to see him play for Rangers, a switch to the Scottish Premiership looks to be off the cards.
After captaining the Italian side to Coppa Italia glory last season, Ferguson has found regular minutes harder to come by this season.
The 26-year-old has made regular starts in the Europa League this term, but has mainly featured off the bench in Serie A with Bologna struggling to replicate their success of last term.
His dad Derek and uncle Barry both turned out for the Light Blues, and it has previously been mentioned by the pair that the youngster was determined to follow in their footsteps when he left Aberdeen in 2022 – but the offer never came.
Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport claim that the Serie A side would list to a “significant offer” for their skipper – who is contracted to the club until 2028, with the option of an extra year.
However, it is claimed it would have to be a “truly tempting” offer to see Ferguson leave the club.
It is claimed the Scotland cap “would listen to offers” to improve his game time, but is in “no rush” to leave the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium.
Former Rangers‘ captain and boss Barry may want to see his nephew make the switch to Govan, he concedes “I’m pretty sure that ship has long since sailed.”
And speaking to TNT Sports earlier this month, Lewis admitted playing in the Premier League was his “dream.”
Ferguson said: ”At a club like Bologna where we’re pushing to get better every year, we’re playing in the latter stages of Europe, and we won a trophy last season, it’s natural that clubs in the Premier League start to take notice and have a look at the players.

”For me, the Premier League is the best league in the world.”
Asked if playing in the English top-flight was an objective of his, the Scot replied: ”I’ve never thought too much about it.”
”I’m always quite open, I don’t set my mind on one thing and say ‘that’s what I want’. I would be quite open to other places. But as a kid, I always watched the Premier League, so it is in the back of your head that you would like to play there one day.
”I still watch it now, and it’s always a league that has really interested me.
“That’s not to say I’m thinking about playing in the Premier League every day, it’s just something in the back of my head from when I was a kid, it was always a dream.”
