Police have located two missing Devon schoolgirls after a public appeal.
Officers asked for help this morning and said they were concerned about the safety of Kingsbridge schoolgirls Kelsie, 11, and Phoebe, 12.
Devon and Cornwall Police previously said officers were “growing increasingly concerned for their welfare” after the girls left school together yesterday (Wednesday, April 29).
Concerns escalated after the girls were sighted this morning (Thursday) at Torquay bus station. It is believed they could have hitchhiked to the area and were using public transport to get around Devon.
A spokesperson said earlier: “They have been sighted at a cashpoint in Torquay this morning [Thursday] and at the town’s bus station, possibly then boarding a bus to Brixham.
“Kelsie is described as a white female, 5ft 2ins tall, with gingery long hair. She is believed to be wearing grey trousers, a grey hoodie and a black rucksack.
“Phoebe is described as 5ft tall with blonde hair and wearing a large black bag, a blue top, black trainers and black bottoms.
“It is believed they may have previously been hitchhiking in the South Hams and using public transport to move around Devon.”
An update shared shortly before 12.30pm confirmed: “We are pleased to share that Kelsie, 11, and Phoebe, 12, who had been reported missing from the Kingsbridge area, have been found. Thank you for sharing our appeal.”
