MERA Investment Management has launched a dedicated preferred equity strategy, backed by a £100 million (€115 million) capital commitment from a US credit vehicle, as UK developers struggle to bridge equity gaps.
The London-headquartered specialist real estate lender said the strategy is designed to provide a capital solution for developers facing equity shortfalls, as higher interest rates, rising land costs and prolonged planning timelines make it harder to capitalise schemes through traditional capital structures.
