Nottingham Forest have made a £13m move for ex-Derby County academy ace and Fenerbahce defender Archie Brown, according to reports.

Turkish outlet Aspor claims the Reds are keen on a deal for the left-back, but their initial offer has been knocked back.

Fenerbahce are said to be holding out for another two million in order for them to grant Brown a return to England this summer.

Brown has made 34 appearances and scored three goals in all competitions for the Turkish Super Lig side, including appearances in the Champions and Europa League.

And now Forest are said to be keen on bringing the left-back to the City Ground, with the 23-year-old having proved himself in Europe.

Brown came through the ranks at Pride Park before leaving in June 2021 for Lausanne Sport in Switzerland and then switched to Gent in Belgium.

Brown was part of the Derby academy side that secured the Under-18s Premier League title in 2019.

The Rams beat Arsenal in the National final at Pride Park, where they romped to a 5-2 win and playing for the Gunners that day was Bukayo Saka, now one of the biggest names in the top flight. But Brown was the show’s star as he was involved in four of Derby’s goals, scoring two himself.

Speaking previously about that game, Brown admitted that it helped raise his profile.

“In terms of my youth career, it was massive.” he said.

“It was the first time people started to know who I was, it was a big moment for me and it helped finish quite a historic season for Derby because we weren’t known as a massive academy.”
