PLYMOUTH’S teen boxing prospect Callum Dan has extended his perfect professional record with a win in his first show in India.
Dan, still only 17, is the UK’s youngest professional boxer, having gained a licence through the Asian Boxing Federation.
Having won all of his first six fights by stoppage, Dan has recorded his first points win with a victory over top-10 ranked Suresh Pasham at the Nexus Seawoods Mall in Navi Mumbai last Sunday (April 26).
The Honicknowle-trained super welterweight gained a unanimous verdict over Pasham after six rounds in the top-of-the-bill clash in the Global Boxing Series event, which was promoted by Marine Pro Boxing in association with the International Boxing Association (IBA),
Dan has a managment contract with Marine Pro Boxing, but his first contest in India saw him welcomed with full-throated support from a packed audience.

Callum’s profile had appeared on billboards, cinema screens, and online across Mumbai in the build-up.
In the days prior, a tease reel on Callum’s Instagram account reached over 207,000 impressions, underlining the growing appetite for his story beyond traditional boxing audiences.
When the contest got underway, the 17-year-old from Plymouth was relentless from the opening bell, showcasing the full range of his ability against Pasham, a tough and experienced 30-year-old fighter who pushed him every step of the way. It was an absorbing, bloody contest that had the Mumbai crowd roaring throughout, and by the final bell Callum had earned their wholehearted respect.
This victory comes just two months after his second-round stoppage of Thai veteran Campee Phayom in Bangkok, extending a perfect 7-0 professional record built entirely on the international stage.

The warmth of the Mumbai crowd even extended beyond the final bell as fans of all ages queued after the fight to meet Callum, some waiting over 30 minutes for a photograph with the teenager.
