Two men have been taken to hospital following an aggravated burglary involving hammers, crowbars and a machete in north Belfast.

Police received a report shortly after 21:40 BST on Friday that a number of masked men entered a house in Ambleside Street.

They assaulted two male occupants with hammers, crow bars and a machete. The property was also damaged in the attack.

Both men required hospital treatment for cuts and bruises.
