Casualty fans have shared their confusion over Saturday’s ‘missing’ BBC iPlayer episode.

The iconic medical series, which has been running since 1986, typically airs on Saturday night on BBC One with episodes available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

However, fans tuning in for Saturday 2 May’s BBC iPlayer episode were left confused after noticing it wasn’t available on the platform.

Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: “It’s 6:39am and #Casualty is yet to be released on @BBCiPlayer – Are they holding back tonight’s episode for some reason?”

A different account joked: “DID BBC IPLAYER FORGET TO ADD TODAY’S EPISODE OF CASUALTY #Casualty”, another viewer wrote: “Going to miss the first 15 mins of #Casualty tonight because of the #BGT Semi Final and the EP hasn’t been released early on I player. I’ve also noticed they haven’t posted on X this week – is the ep even going to air?”

Elsewhere, a different fan commented: “@BBC @BBCiPlayer why isn’t today’s @BBCCasualty episode on BBC iPlayer yet? #casualty.”

However, one viewer had a theory for the missing episode as they speculated: “I re-read the description and it states life and death situation so they could be keeping it back for a shocking death…”

Casualty took to its official Instagram page to confirm the listing, writing: “Casualty tonight 8:45pm on BBC One & BBC iPlayer.”

Fans were also quick to comment on the post as one person wrote: “Now I’m back for just waiting for casualty til tonight cause it’s not on bbc player at 6:00am” to which another account put: “Why isn’t it on iPlayer already?”

Tonight’s synopsis for Lethal Legacy episode 2 of 12 reads: “The paramedics face a life-and-death situation in the call centre.”

Meanwhile, an insider told Digital Spy about the episode: “Things have only just started to calm down in the emergency department. But the drama is only just getting started for the call handlers.

“Everyone is in danger, and one wrong move could spark complete mayhem. You’ll be on the edge of your seat while watching this play out.”
