Jet2 has unveiled a “first” for UK holidaymakers departing from Britain. The carrier, which operates from Birmingham, or BHX, has confirmed its maiden flight to Samos took off from Manchester Airport today.
On Friday, May 1, Jet2 has “marked the start of the brand-new Greek route for summer 2026,” it says. The airline, which competes with Ryanair, Easyjet, TUI and British Airways, says the development signals the “start” of Jet2 providing flights and holidays to the destination.
Samos is “for holidaymakers looking to discover the beautiful Greek island”, it says. The island sits just off the Turkish coast and is brimming with appeal, from its golden-sand beaches to its verdant hills.
Jet2 will run twice-weekly services (Tuesday and Friday) until the end of October.
This will be followed by the inaugural flight to Samos from Birmingham Airport on 4 May and another from London Stansted Airport on 7 May.
Weekly Monday services will run from Birmingham Airport until 26 October, while twice weekly services (Monday and Thursday) are available from London Stansted Airport until 29 October.
