Sony subsidiary ANIPLEX has officially announced Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina, an updated re-release of 2021’s PS4 fighter Melty Blood: Type Lumina.
The game will launch on both the PS5 and PS4 in 2027.
Aside from a short promo video, details are pretty scarce, but Japanese dev French-Bread is once again at the helm.
The press release reads the following:
“Melty Blood: Type Lumina is back and better than ever! Refined battle mechanics! New characters join the fray! A tale of conflict stirs once again within a dream.”
The original game is set before the events of Type-Moon’s iconic visual novel Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon.
While some fans may be frustrated at the decision to re-release this fighter, it’s worth noting that all DLC characters for the original game were added for free. In that sense, you could say French-Bread has earned this opportunity at a re-release.
With a 2027 release date touted, we doubt we’ll get much more information on this project until later in the year. One to keep an eye on, though.
