Star Wars: A New Hope

So on Thursday night, as April prepared to give way to May, you’ll have no doubt seen the usual N*Sync ‘it’s gona be meeee’ posts on social media. And now its the turn of Star Wars fans to have one eye on the calendar as it’s very nearly their time to shine.

May 4 isn’t just any day, as anyone who loves the famous film franchise will tell you, May 4 is officially Star Wars Day. And as they all prepare to utter those immortal words: ‘May the 4th be with you’ a very well known toy shop in the North East is pulling out all the stops to mark the occasion in style.

Having recently had people turning out in big numbers with the arrival of a POPMART vending machine in store, The Entertainer at the Metrocentre looks set to be a big draw for lovers of all things Star Wars on Bank Holiday Monday, when they take over Exhibition Square inside the Gateshead mall. With the space divided into three interactive zones, visitors will have the chance to learn and trial Star Wars game play and themed products including the Electronic Bladesmith Darksaber, Electronic Bladesmith Darth Vader and the Power Crystal Lightsaber.

Guests can also capture memorable moments in the photo opportunity zone with themed backdrops and special appearances from costume characters throughout the day. Plus, there will be a dedicated space in the interactive play area for additional photo opportunities and hands-on game play experiences.

To mark the occasion, participants will receive an exclusive A3 poster and a certificate of participation as commemorative keepsakes.

Gearing up for Monday, Jordan Wingrave, Buyer at The Entertainer, commented: “We’re thrilled to be teaming up with Hasbro to celebrate National Star Wars Day with an exciting experience at the Exhibition Square, Metrocentre.

“Designed to bring the world of Star Wars to life for fans of all ages, we’re delighted to be creating a memorable way for families and enthusiasts to connect with the brand in a fun, interactive setting and look forward to welcoming fans this weekend.”
