Cameron Diaz’s rock star husband Benji Madden has revealed that he and the 53-year-old actress have welcomed their third child in a shock announcement on Instagram

Cameron Diaz, 53, and Benji Madden, 47, have welcomed their third child. The Good Charlotte rock star announced he and his actress wife welcomed their son via an Instagram post on Monday (4 May).
Rather than share a picture of the newborn, Benji shared picture if a ship, a nod to their son’s unique name. He wrote: “Cameron and I are Happy, Excited, and feeling so BLESSED to announce the birth of our third Child, Nautas Madden. Welcome to the world Son!!
“We love life with our family- our kids are healthy&happy, and we are grateful!! having a blast. Sending all our best wishes- the Madden Family.”

According to the picture Benji shared, Nautas means “Sailor, navigator, voyager. One who embarks on a journey and fears not the unknown.”
Underneath the picture, Cameron added a bunch of star emojis, along with love hearts. Fans sent messages of support in the comments as well. One said: “Congratulations @benjaminmadden and @camerondiaz you absolutely wonderful people! So so happy for you both.”
Another added: “The best parents! All a blessing to watch @benjaminmadden @camerondiaz love you all SO much.” A third said: “Oh snap this is amazing news. Congratz @benjaminmadden and @camerondiaz”.
Cameron and Benji married in 2015 and already have a daughter, Raddix, born via a surrogate in December 2019, and a son, Cardinal, born in March 2024. Cardinal was also born via surrogate.

At the time of Raddix’s birth, a source told Us Weekly that the couple had struggled with fertility before turning to surrogacy. The source said: “They went through so much to get to this point. Cameron feels like this baby is truly a miracle.” Another source had previously told the publication that Cameron and Benji had tried IVF, acupuncture and supplements to have a baby.
In 2020, Cameron shared that being a mother was the “best, best part” of her life. She told Entertainment Tonight: “I love being a mother. I’m so grateful and so happy and it’s the best thing ever and I’m so lucky to do it with Benji.”
The birth of her third child comes not long after Cameron’s return to the screen. Her first film in a decade, Back In Action, was released in January last year, and her second, Outcome, was released in April 2026.
At Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit, Cameron previously explained that she took a step back from acting in 2015 because she wanted to “reclaim” her life and focus on building a family.
She said: It felt like the right thing for me to reclaim my own life and I just really didn’t care about anything else.
“Nobody’s opinion, nobody’s success, no one’s offer, no one’s anything could change my mind about my decision of taking care of myself and building the life that I really wanted to have. I think it really comes to, ‘What are you passionate about?’ For me, it was to build my family.”
