Simon, 42, and his son Lochland, 8, from Bury St Edmunds, are hoping to grab the players’ attention again at this year’s parade.
Simon’s wife made the ‘We Ran Towards Adversity’ sign two years ago when the club was promoted to the Premier League.
He said: “Harry Clarke and Mark Ashton saw the sign, pointed to it, beckoned her over and held it up on the bus as it went round the roundabout.
“It was amazing – your heart starts racing. Obviously, Harry Clarke is a cult hero at the club, and he was incredible for us during that season, and what Mark Ashton has done for the club is amazing as well.”
His son Lochland has been a season ticket holder for four years and has seen the club promoted to the Premier League twice in that time.
