Renfrew-based photographer Dan Jones has been shortlisted in recognition of his work documenting and celebrating the LGBTQ+ community.

Dan said: “I’m so honoured to be nominated.
“I have been a photographer for 13 years and it means a lot to me to be recognised for helping to tell the stories of my own community.
“I’ve always thought that there is a rich cultural tapestry and so much joy in our community that I’ve dedicated myself to telling these stories in a vibrant, and colourful way.
“Especially now at a time when it’s feeling a little less safe to be visible as an LGBTQ+ person, it’s important to keep telling these stories so that people can look to us as sources of inspiration, hope and comfort.”
The Proud Scotland Awards celebrate people who are uplifting LGBTQ+ voices and identities.
The awards night will take place at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Glasgow, on Saturday, May 30.
