The Brighton and Hove Wildlife Advice and Rescue Service (WARS) group on Facebook shared the news on April 24, after weeks of efforts to save the animal on Dean Court Road, Rottingdean.
The fox, which has also been caring for cubs, was found with the jagged glass around its neck earlier in April, prompting an urgent appeal from WARS for help in trapping and rescuing the animal.
The rescue operation involved moving traps from property to property, knocking on doors, speaking with residents, and carefully monitoring sightings.
The fox was eventually captured and taken to East Sussex Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service (WRAS) for urgent care.
The glass has been removed, and the fox’s wounds have been treated.
The animal is now said to be pain-free for the first time in a long while.
A spokesman from the WARS group said: “After weeks of searching, planning, and unwavering dedication, our team has safely rescued the fox who had a glass jar stuck around her neck on Dean Court Road.
“This hasn’t been a quick or easy task.
“For the past couple of weeks, our rescuers have given up their spare time to move traps from property to property, knock on doors, speak with residents, and carefully monitor sightings.
“Our patience and determination paid off this evening when she was finally, safely rescued and she is now on her way to receive the urgent care she needs and the glass removed at East Sussex WRAS.
“This rescue is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through teamwork, compassion, and community support.
“Huge thanks to all the residents of Dean Court Road who have helped us.”

The fox’s injuries are severe, but it is now resting and being cared for.
Every volunteer in the rescue operation used their own vehicles, covering fuel and maintenance costs themselves, to give wildlife casualties like this fox a second chance.
WARS has expressed gratitude to everyone who helped, shared information, and supported the rescue operation.
