Hull FC will be without Aidan Sezer for Sunday’s Super League clash against Salford Red Devils, with the Black and Whites’ half-back and skipper absent with a shoulder issue.

The extent of the issue is still to be determined, with Hull sending Sezer for scans earlier this week. The 34-year-old had previously been ever-present for John Cartwright’s side in the Super League this year, with the club fielding a new half-back combination for the first time.

That combination sees Cade Cust paired with Zak Hardaker, with John Asiata, Will Pryce, and Ed Chamberlain all coming back into the starting line-up.

Pryce takes his place at full-back after recovering from a hamstring injury that has seen him miss the last ten weeks. Meanwhile, Harvey Barron and Lewis Martin are on the wings, with Tom Briscoe coming back into the side. Davy Litten completes the three-quarter line. As mentioned, Cust and Hardaker are the halves.

Up front, Herman Ese’ese starts at prop alongside Liam Watts, who earns a first start since coming back to the club. Amir Bourouh is at hooker. Chamberlain is in the back row alongside Jed Cartwright, while Asiata is at loose forward.

The bench consists of Jack Ashworth, Yusuf Aydin, Jack Charles, and Sam Eseh. Matty Laidlaw is the 18th man.

As well as Sezer, Hull are without Jordan Rapana (HIA), Liam Knight (ankle), Ligi Sao (knee), Brad Fash (hamstring), Jordan Lane (arm), and Roman Dawson (ACL) due to injury.

Meanwhile, Salford have named their side with no fewer than 10 loan players included. Jamie Pye is the player to miss out from the 19 named on the RFL website on Friday.
