A beloved Cornwall attraction has earned recognition as one of the finest destinations not only in the UK, but across the globe.

Camel Creek Family Adventure Park has secured 16th place worldwide and ninth in Europe within the Amusements and Water Parks category at TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards: Best of the Best Things to Do.

The prestigious awards celebrate the most highly-rated experiences and attractions globally, determined by millions of Tripadvisor reviews and ratings from travellers worldwide, reports Cornwall Live.

While the adventure park may lack the international fame of Edinburgh’s Royal Yacht Britannia, which claimed top spot both nationally and globally, or Paris’s Eiffel Tower, it has excelled in family entertainment rankings and continues to win over visitors. The Wadebridge-area attraction boasts a four-star rating on TripAdvisor, based on over 2,200 customer reviews.

TripAdvisor describes Camel Creek Adventure Park as follows: “Get ready for non-stop fun and thrills at Camel Creek – Cornwall’s greatest, award-winning, adventure park.”

“With more than 40 rides and attractions to discover, the whole family is guaranteed a day filled with 100 per cent fun.

“From family roller-coaster, Morgawr and the huge water slide at Raging Rivers to meeting new animal friends including cheeky meerkats and scaley reptiles, there are family favourites to keep everyone entertained.

“Plus, for all-weather fun, there’s more than 45,000 square feet of indoor play to explore. Challenge yourself at Shipwreck Shores Adventure Golf, let imaginations run wild at Merlin’s Magical Playground, and take a break at the Hidden Garden Café and indoor play.”

The Royal Yacht Britannia in Edinburgh has this year claimed the coveted title of the world’s number one Top Attraction. Queen Elizabeth II’s former floating palace, now docked in the Scottish capital’s Leith harbour district, has soared an impressive 11 places since it first appeared on the global list last year at number 12.

Fellow Edinburgh landmark The Real Mary King’s Close also secured a place on the world list at number six, while Oxford’s Bodleian Library claimed the number 13 spot.

Franck Bruyère, chief executive, The Royal Yacht Britannia, said: “We are incredibly proud of The Royal Yacht Britannia’s success and wish to thank our visitors for taking the time to share their gift of feedback. Being number one in the world is a tremendous achievement and a testament to our team’s unwavering commitment to delivering an exceptional visitor experience.”

Regarding tours and experiences, this year’s globally top-ranked experience is a Porto walking tour costing under £3 per person. The Unvanquished Tour in Porto City Center reclaimed its prestigious title, having previously won the accolade back in 2024. Boasting over 25,000 five-star reviews, holidaymakers rave about this tour for its comprehensive exploration of Porto’s heritage, architectural splendour, alongside insider tips on regional cuisine and beverages. Closer to home, Liverpool’s Beatles Magical Mystery Tour has secured the fifth spot globally.
