With Northampton trailing by more than 30 points at Welford Road, tensions boiled over late in the game as Pollock appeared keen to spark a confrontation with Leicester captain Hanro Liebenberg.

The Saints back-rower was seen gesturing towards the South African forward in a fiery exchange that quickly drew attention online — but fans were far from impressed given the scoreline.

One supporter wrote:

“This is so embarrassing man. Come on — giving it the ‘you want it then’ while hop skip and jumping backwards. And all while your team’s 30 odd points down.”

Another posted:

“Dickhead is trying to take on South African powerhouse Hanro Liebenberg of all people.”

A third fan said:

“Let’s not forget Hanro would properly fill Pollock in. I like Pollock but he’s made a complete tit of himself today.”

While another added:

“It’s never a great sign when the rest of your team are just leaving you alone to sort it out yourself.”

POLLOCK’S TOP 5 FLANKERS OF ALL-TIME

One of the most complete forwards of the modern era, Savea blends explosive power with elite handling and pace rarely seen in a flanker.

A standout for the All Blacks, he has consistently delivered in high-pressure moments, evolving from an impact player into a world-leading figure and national captain. His ability to dominate collisions, win turnovers, and link play makes him a prototype for the modern back-rower.

Pollock has named him as the ‘toughest opponent’ of his career so far.
