The German boss is facing major scrutiny in the wake of the defeat at Celtic Park on Sunday

Under-pressure Danny Rohl is facing a “personal review” by Andrew Cavenagh as the Rangers’ supremo dissects a disastrous campaign.
Celtic brought the Light Blues’ chances of lifting the Premiership title to a mathematical end with a 3-1 victory in Glasgow’s east end.
It marks the third defeat in a row for struggling Rangers with losses to Motherwell and Hearts seeing the Glasgow giants tumble out of title contention.
The Ibrox side are also out of the running for next season’s Champions League with a top two finish now out of reach, and require Celtic to win the Scottish Cup against Dunfermline to snag a Europa League spot instead of the Conference League.
Record Sport’s Keith Jackson revealed that owner and chairman Cavenagh is reviewing the missteps from the campaign – and reckons German gaffer Rohl is facing an uncertain future.
Asked by Daniel Caw on Hotline Live if he felt Rohl will be in the hot seat next season, Jackson replied: “No, I actually don’t. I think Rangers will be having a series of meetings and Andrew Cavenagh has already started a personal review of the mistakes that have been made this season.
“As I have said previously to this Daniel, when he first came in the door he was solely focussed on getting the deal done, because it was a highly complex transaction to get a hold of so many sets of shares from different places to get the deal done.
“It took all of his efforts and all of his focus, and because of that he has literally taken his eye off the ball in terms of the football side of it.
“I said repeatedly last summer that things are likely to get worse before they get better under Andrew Cavenagh.

“I felt like mistakes were being made that he didn’t have full ownership of it because his focus was elsewhere.
“I think now you see a guy who has got all of that stuff done and has taken a much more hands on approach to the football side of things, and I think it will be really difficult for him to switch off for the summer and think ‘Danny Rohl has got this’.”
Rohl has emerged a surprise contender for the Wolfsburg hot seat this week – and despite mounting pressure at Ibrox distanced himself from the Bundesliga post.
Current boss Dieter Hecking is expected to land a senior position at the club following the conclusion of the campaign, with the Volkswagen-run club facing a battle against relegation on the final day of the season.
Alexander Blessin of St. Pauli and Hertha gaffer Stefan Leitl are also said to be on the club’s shortlist. Asked about the trio and his own future after defeat to Bayern Munich on Saturday, Hecking said: “We have a clear commitment to finish the season.
“Then we will have to sit down and discuss things: how the club envisions it and how I envision it, if it comes to that.
“In this industry, one should always be open to dialogue anyway. Anything else is currently far too much speculation, I’m not participating in that.
“I was brought in to get the company out of this mess. We’re working on it, but nothing has been achieved yet.”
