For a fifth year, RBB will air the final of the Eurovision Song Contest live for radio listeners in Berlin.
Germany – Zero Points! will return on May 16, hosted by Max Spalleck and Amelie Ernst. The duo have been commentating on the Eurovision Song Contest for RBB since 2022, and will broadcast live from the radioeins studio in Potsdam.
Radio broadcasts of the Eurovision Song Contest have been sporadic during the history of Germany’s participation in the contest. Since 2010, the following stations have aired the contest:
WDR 1LIVE – 2011
hr3 – 2011 and 2012
NDR 2 – 2010 to 2012
Radio Eins – 2022 to date
Germany will be represented in the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna by Sara Engels and the song “Fire”. Eurovoix had the opportunity to speak with Sarah Engels ahead of the competition and you can read our interview here:
As a Big Five member, Germany is automatically qualified for the Grand Final, but will still perform and vote during the first semi-final of May 12. You can find out more about Sarah Engels here:

Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest+
Germany was one of seven countries to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1956. The country has taken part in every contest since then, apart from in 1996, when they failed to make it through the qualifying round. To date Germany has won the contest twice. The first time was in 1982 when Nicole sang “Ein Bisschen Frieden” in Harrogate, which later became a global hit. Germany didn’t win again until 2010 when Lena sang “Satellite” in Oslo. She received 9 sets of 12 points, scoring 246 points overall.
