Artur Beterbiev could have to walk away from boxing for one specific reason.

In his career, the thunderous puncher has cemented his status as one of the most dangerous fighters to have ever walked the face of the Earth.

After suffering a loss to Dmitry Bivol in his last outing, Beterbiev has announced his comeback against Dean Nicholson.

However, that could end up being the last time fans ever see him walk to the ring.

While most want to see the trilogy between Artur Beterbiev and Bivol, it might not come to fruition.

Chris Algieri believes the warrior trains so hard that he might not have much left, and thus, his upcoming bout is all about finding out whether he still has what it takes to compete with the best in the business.

In a video uploaded to The Boxing Scene YouTube channel, he explained: “Can his body make it through another camp? I know he trains very hard. I train with sparring partners in my gym who have been in camp with him. He’s brutal.

“He brutalizes his sparring partners. He boxes very hard in sparring, almost like a fight.

“So, I think they’re really testing the mechanics, wheel, and engine to see if all that can get through a training camp to get him into a big fight, because at this age, this is when those injuries keep you from fighting and may even end your career.

“That’s what happened to me and the Klitschko brothers. I wanted to keep fighting, but my body was not willing.

“So, I think they’re going to test this out to see if he can get through a camp, get to a fight night, get in there and actually perform.

“But in terms of what’s going to happen when that bell rings, I think Beterbiev is going to be Beterbiev. That guy is a machine.”
