Richard Smith, 50, was travelling home from work when he was struck by a Mercedes in Chartwell Road, just after 5pm on Friday.
He was taken to hospital in a critical condition, where he died days later on Monday.

His family has now paid tribute to him in a statement.
“A much-loved partner, dad, brother, son, friend and colleague has sadly died after an incident on Friday, May 8, 2026,” it said.
“We are all struggling to make sense of such a tragic loss to all of our lives.
“Rich was a keen NCFC supporter, a blood and organ donor and a proud dad to his three children.
“We will remember him with love and kindness and for some truly terrible dance moves.”
Mr Smith worked as UK sales manager for Delta Fire, which is based in Norwich and is the nation’s leading manufacturer of firefighting nozzles.
A representative for Delta Fire also posted a touching statement on its LinkedIn page.
“It is with great sadness that we share the news that our much-loved colleague, Richard Smith, passed away following a road traffic incident,” it said.
“Richard was a valued member of our team and will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of working with him.

Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service responded, saying: “Our team is so sorry to read this, our thoughts are with Richard’s family, friends and all of his work family at Delta Fire.”

David Robinson added: “I knew Richard through Norwich City, we have sat together as supporters for years.
“A great guy and a terrible loss. My condolences to his family and all those at Delta Fire who worked with him.”
Ashley Black, director at CODER, said: “Such sad news. Richard was such a lovely person and it was always a pleasure working with him.
“Our thoughts are with his family, friends and the whole team at Delta Fire.”
Police said the driver of the white Mercedes CLA 180 Sport car failed to stop at the scene and, after enquiries, was arrested by officers in Bignold Road on the Mile Cross estate shortly before 7pm.

David Morgan, 40, of George Winter Court, appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with attempted murder and driving with excess alcohol.
Morgan – a former Heartsease High School pupil, who works as a forklift driver having previously been employed at Lotus – spoke only to confirm his name and age and did not enter a plea to the attempted murder charge.
He was remanded to appear at Norwich Crown Court on June 8.
A Norfolk Constabulary spokeswoman said police will consult with CPS on the charge following Mr Smith’s death on Monday.
Norfolk Constabulary is appealing for anyone with dashcam footage or information about the white Mercedes’ manner of driving before the collision to come forward.
