History beckons for the Jambos if they can avoid defeat against the Hoops on Saturday
Hearts bus for a potential victory parade
They have been top of the Scottish Premiership since September – and Hearts are ramping up planning for their potential title celebrations.
The title race has gone to the wire as the Jambos travel to defending champions Celtic on the final day of the season, knowing that avoiding defeat in Glasgow’s east end would create history.
It would be the first time in 66 years that the title has made its way to Gorgie – and would break Sir Alex Ferguson’s run of being the last boss to take the trophy outside of Glasgow, which was last achieved by his Aberdeen side in 1985.
So, it’s understandable that excitement is building – and an image is circulating on social media of the bus that will be used during the title celebrations, if Hearts can see off Martin O’Neill’s men.
The maroon-colour bus is emblazoned with the word ‘champions’ and also reads ‘glorious Hearts’.
Plans are in place for road closures and diversions in the capital on Sunday 17 May to accommodate a victory parade, should the Jambos get the job done.
The planned parade route will begin at Edinburgh City Chambers on the Royal Mile, heading down The Mound towards Gorgie via Haymarket, ending at Tynecastle Park.
