Disrespecting James Tavernier is the final nail in the coffin for Danny Rohl – and it would be no surprise if they finish the season winless after the split.
That’s the view of Rangers hero Derek Ferguson who has let rip at the under-fire boss.
Rohl initially rejuvenated Rangers after replacing Russell Martin and dragged them back into the title race from a difficult position. But since the split, it’s been a disaster.
Defeat to Celtic at Parkhead killed off their title hopes and their loss to Hibs on Wednesday night has ramped up the pressure on Rohl who is has lost the faith of many fans.
Speculation is rife that he’s lost the dressing room too. His dramatic fallout with James Tavernier, who refused to be named as a sub when Rohl dropped him for what would have been his final game at Ibrox, has sparked fury and several players have spoken out in support of their long-serving captain.
We understand Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers will review Rohl’s position this summer despite the German revealing he’s had a vote of confidence for the board.
Rangers face Falkirk in a dead rubber at 12.30pm on Saturday while Celtic and Hearts battle it out for the title at Parkhead.
As far as Ferguson is concerned though, that should be Rohl’s final game.
The former midfielder said on Open Goal: “Alarm bells (are ringing) for me. We’re already questioning his bottle when it comes to the split. He still hasn’t won a game after it, and probably won’t win a game again because I don’t fancy them against Falkirk on Saturday.
