Holger Rune and Amanda Anisimova are one of the superstar partnerships for the US Open mixed doubles event this year.
The US Open mixed doubles event has been revamped for 2025, a decision which has split opinion across the board.
This change has attracted many star names, with mixed doubles teams including Carlos Alcaraz and Emma Raducanu.
Rune is also part of the US Open mixed doubles event, and he has now revealed he made a prediction about his partner that nearly came true.

It has been a breakout year for Anisimova, who won the Qatar Open title back in February to kickstart what has been an impressive season.
The American continued this form into the grass court season, beginning with Anisimova reaching the final of the Queen’s Club Championships.
This year was the first time that men and women both played at Queen’s since 1973.
Rune, who was also competing at the Queen’s Club Championships, has now revealed that he predicted Anisimova would win Wimbledon after watching her play.
“You know it’s actually funny, people can think maybe I am lying, but I am not I promise,” Rune told Tennis Channel. “I said in Queen’s that I thought she was going to win Wimbledon and then she made the final.
“But, you know she’s really improved, been through a lot also. But yeah, it’s just amazing to be able to share the court with her.”
Rune’s prediction almost came true, before Anisimova suffered a heavy defeat in the Wimbledon final to Iga Swiatek.

Have Holger Rune and Amanda Anisimova played doubles together before?
As with many teams at the US Open mixed doubles event, this is the first time that Rune and Anisimova have played together.
Rune has never played mixed doubles at a Grand Slam before, while Anisimova does have some experience.
In her three previous Grand Slam mixed doubles appearances, Anisimova has partnered Nick Kyrgios, Christian Harrison and Michael Mmoh.

Although Anisimova has never surpassed the second round of a mixed doubles Grand Slam, she has twice lost to the eventual champions, and the other time to the runners-up.
Both Rune and Anisimova will look to be the champions at the US Open mixed doubles event, which takes place on August 19-20.
