One-month subscriptions to PS Plus Essential have gone up by £1 / $1 while the three-membership will increase by £2 / $3.
The price increases shall only apply to “select regions”, but Sony doesn’t clarify which ones. “This price change does not apply to current subscribers (except in Turkey and India) unless the existing subscription changes or lapses,” it confirms in a social media post.
Starting May 20, PlayStation Plus prices for new customers will increase in select regions. Sony’s decision to increase the price of PS Plus Essential for new members comes not long after it hiked the prices of PS5 consoles themselves. This means that a brand new PS5 owner would be paying more for both the console and the PS Plus membership after Wednesday, 20th May 2026.
