NRK recorded its lowest audience for a Eurovision Song Contest final on Saturday night since the 2007 final in Helsinki, Finland.

An average audience of 676,000 viewers watched on NRK 1 as Norway competed in the final of the 70th Eurovision Song Contest. While the contest still had a share of more than 80% of television viewers, the number of viewers is the lowest for a final in 19 years when Guri Schanke failed to qualify for the 2007 final in Helsinki, Finland.

Mads Tørklep, Head of Delegation for Norway, stated:

“Of course, we would have liked the viewing figures to be higher than they are, but it is understandable that people had other things to do the night before the national day. Over 80 percent of those who watched TV on Saturday night watched Eurovision, and over 800,000 stopped by when Jonas Lovv was on stage”

During the course of the night 1,316,000 viewers watched at least one minute of the show, with a peak of 808,000 viewers when Jonas Lovv performed with “Ya Ya Ya”. Overall the average audience is down 168,000 viewers compared to the 2025 final.

Jonas Lovv represented Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with “Ya Ya Ya”, where he finished 14th in the final with 134 points. This included 12 points from the French jury.
