A person has died after being struck by a train in Northallerton, British Transport Police has confirmed.
Emergency services were dispatched to Northallerton Railway Station at approximately 2.50pm on Monday, May 18.
Tragically, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
All lines between York and Darlington remain blocked, with disruption anticipated to continue until 6pm.
A Network Rail spokesperson stated: “The emergency services dealing with an incident between York and Darlington / Middlesborough / Sunderland means all lines are closed. As a result, trains will be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.
“Disruption is expected until 6pm.”, reports Teesside Live.
