More than 100 people attended the Danny Knox Foundation’s event at Gourock Golf Club on Friday, May 15.
Loved ones of Greenock dad Danny set up the non-profit organisation in 2024 to raise funds for good causes.
Most of the money raised on the day will be donated to the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity as it sets up a centre for children with additional support needs (ASN) at Inverclyde Royal Hospital.
Paul Stinson, who was a close friend of Danny’s and helps to run the foundation, said the event was a great success.

He said: “The day went really well. This is now our third annual golf day for the foundation and it’s getting better each time.
“The flow of the day was really good, and it was a big help that the weather stayed dry.
“It wasn’t as hot as the two previous years, but at least it was dry, and everybody got around the course without getting soaked, which is always good.
“It was a good laugh and just about everybody who was playing knew Daniel personally.”
Prior to the event, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity contacted the foundation to ask for a contribution toward its £22,000 target to set up the ASN day centre – and the foundation was happy to oblige.
A donation from funds raised at the event will also be made to Ardgowan Hospice.

There were 23 teams of four competing on the day, and many people who weren’t playing attended to help out.
Prizes were given out including a full golf bag for the winning team, a golf wedge for second place and T-shirts from the club’s pro shop for third.
Local businesses also donated towards a raffle and an auction.
Paul added that everyone involved the foundation would like to thank all their sponsors and everyone who pitched in to make the day a success.
He added: “It’s incredible the amount of support received for the golf day and for everything else that happened throughout the year.
“The club were kind enough to not charge a fee to play on the course, so that was a big help and was why we managed to go over the 10 grand.”
