MC Tazo gave one of the most talked about auditions of Britain’s Got Talent 2026 but has been axed from the competition

His audition got loads of people talking, after Ant and Dec stepped in to save him from being sent home, but MC Tazo won’t be back on Britain’s Got Talent. The Geordie dance icon’s time on the show has come to an end, with him missing from the confirmed line-up for this weekend’s last semi final.
A guy known to plenty people across the North East, thanks to being a regular back at the New Monkey in Sunderland back in the day and for appearing at huge events like Clubland on the Beach and Lost Minds festival, MC Tazo was probably the last person they’d expect to see on BGT, but that’s exactly what happened earlier this year.
Having kept his audition secret from his two sons, MC Tazo, real name Kevin Hogg, and his family headed down from Gateshead to Blackpool, with Tazo doing an original rap in a bid to impress the judges. With him needing three yeses from the judges, it looked like the writing was on the wall for Tazo, when both Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon said no, only for fellow Geordies Ant and Dec to storm the stage and argue they should have the casting vote.

That was enough to see MC Tazo through, however, the didn’t give a guarantee that he would actually be in the semi finals. And it’s now become clear that he will play no further part in the show this year, after the acts for Saturday’s last live semi were announced on Britain’s Got Talent’s social channels on Thursday morning.
Chatting to ChronicleLive days after appearing on BGT, Tazo told us he was confident he could win Amanda and Alesha over, would have loved a duet with Scooter in the final and even teased that, should he have made it to the Royal Variety Show, would have written a rap in honour of the Royal Family.
Given the huge reaction from Chronicle readers alone to his audition, with us getting thousands of comments on our Facebook posts about him, there are sure to be loads of fans gutted that this is the end of the road for MC Tazo on BGT, although he will be on stage at Clubland By The Sea in Hartlepool and F.O.M.O at Blue Star Football Club.
