Four people – including two five-year-olds – have been taken to hospital with critical injuries following a “horrendous collision”.
The crash happened on the A59 at Gisburn, close to the junction with Strawberry Fields, between a Skoda Karoq and a Volkswagen Golf R, at about 15:55 BST on Thursday, Lancashire Police said.
The driver of the Skoda, a woman in her 60s, and two passengers – a boy and a girl – all suffered severe injuries and were taken to hospital where they are in a critical condition.
The driver of the VW Golf, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
