Merseyside Police has now confirmed a man was taken to hospital after he was slashed across the face in Toxteth tonight.
Emergency services descended on Toxteth on Friday, May 22 after a man in his 20’s was slashed in the face on Asbridge Street, just off Lodge Lodge, shortly after 6.15pm.
The man was taken to hospital, where he is being treated for serious injuries to arm and face, which Merseyside Police described as “deep.”
Police remain at the scene and Asbridge Street and Cawdor Street are cordoned off.
An investigation has been launched with CCTV footage, witness enquiries and forensic examinations ongoing.
