Fourteen-year-old Ashley Adeoye, from West Bowling, has been crowned National Schoolboy Boxing Champion in the 70kg–75kg division, extending his undefeated record and earning a place representing England at the upcoming Three Nations tournament.
He trains at Huggy’s Boxing Gym in Spring Mill Street, Broomfields, where manager and club founder Huggy Osman said the win is the realisation of his long-held vision for the club.

Mr Osman said: “I wanted a place where these kids could find a vision for their lives rather than just drifting on the streets.
“Ashley is proof that when you give a young person a purpose and a safe place to sweat, they can achieve greatness.
“He is showing every kid in Bradford what is possible.”
He said the victory belongs not just to Ashley, but to the entire BD5 community.
Huggy’s Boxing Gym was founded to give young people a positive alternative to “just drifting on the streets”.
Ashley’s success, Osman said, shows the power of that mission.
His title win is also the product of community support, mentorship, and hard work.

Coach Haroon Osman has helped shape Ashley into a national force and a role model for other young people in the area.

With a national title under his belt and the opportunity to represent England, the club believes Ashley’s journey is just beginning – and hope he will follow in the footsteps of his cousin Dubois.
