First Major Update for PS5's NTE Will Let You Mute Its Worst Character 1

Free-to-play open world game NTE’s first major update is coming 3rd June, and here’s the biggest news: you’ll be able to mute irritating otter Taygedo if you, like me, are sick of his sh*t.

Chinese dev Hotta probably got a lot of feedback about this particularly irritating critter, and so moving forward you won’t need to hear his repetitive voice lines. Thank god for that!

Obviously this update has a lot more meaningful stuff to it, including the title’s previously announced Porsche collaboration. You’ll be able to unlock the Porsche 918 Spyder and a themed outfit for protagonist Zero as part of a new gacha, which will accept either Annulith or Fons.

A new location named Sunward Island will be added as part of the update, as well as a new story mission named the Dreamwalk Corridor. This will feature the previously teased antagonist faction The Scarlet Letter, so we’ll be learning a lot more about the world of Heathereau at large.

In addition, two new playable characters will debut: Lacrimosa and Chaos. Both have new costumes and open world activities attached to them, with the former having a whopping five outfits alone.

Hotta is also adding some new gameplay features and activities, like a functioning in-game social media feed, where you’ll be able to share your own photos and receive likes, just like real-life Instagram.

Similarly, a new Mario Kart-style combat racing mode named the Underground Circuit as well as an online fighting minigame called Fight Club will debut. You’ll be able to play these online.

Various other events and activities will cycle in and out throughout the entirety of v1.1, including double rewards, free pulls, and more.

In addition to a slew of different bug fixes and gameplay optimisations, the studio says it’s also improving the controller experience, so hopefully things feel a lot better on the DualSense once the update drops.
