Two more men have been charged as part of an investigation into rape, sexual offences and human trafficking for exploitation.
Richard Howard-Smith, 35, a town councillor in Maldon, and Eldred Reames, 24, both of Southwood Chase, Danbury, in Essex, were arrested on Thursday and have now been charged with multiple offences including rape and sexual assault.
They were in custody and were expected to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, a spokesperson for Essex Police said.
During the investigation, officers have searched Maldon and Tiptree Football Club and other locations.
