easyJet and Ryanair flights were forced to land in Manchester

Flights were diverted at Liverpool John Lennon Airport this afternoon after a light aircraft suffered from a flat tyre on the runway. easyJet and Ryanair planes were prevented from landing until the problem was resolved.
The incoming easyJet Isle of Man and Ryanair Wroclaw, Poland, flights were both redirected until the the light aircraft was removed.
An LJLA spokesman confirmed the light aircraft “landed ok but then had a flat tyre on runway preventing other aircraft from landing”.
Passengers who already bordered their flights had to endure a brief wait on the runway while the issue was resolved. The runway has now reopened and flights have returned to their regular schedule.
