Norway confirms final North Sea herring quotas for 2026, setting vessel allocations and UK waters fishing limits.

UK Waters Sub-Quota Allocations

Separate sub-quota units have also been established for fishing activity within UK waters.

The allocations are:

Trawlers: 0.1545 tonnes per quota unit.
Small purse seine vessels (SUK): 0.3299 tonnes per quota unit.
Vessels holding purse seine licences: 0.5048 tonnes per quota unit.
Coastal vessels: maximum quota of 120 tonnes.

The Directorate confirmed that all changes took effect on 22 May 2026.
