Taylor Swift walked away empty-handed at the American Music Awards after entering the night as the show’s leading nominee with eight nods.
Swift, who did not attend the ceremony at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, was shut out of the major categories announced May 25 on CBS and Paramount+ despite entering the show as the most-awarded artist in AMAs history with 40 career wins.
The singer-songwriter was nominated for artist of the year, album of the year for “The Life of a Showgirl” and song of the year for “The Fate of Ophelia,” among other categories.
Instead, artist of the year went to BTS, while song of the year was awarded to EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami for “Golden” as The Singing Voices of HUNTR/X.

Swift also lost song of the summer for “Elizabeth Taylor,” with BTS winning the category for “SWIM.”
The pop superstar skipped the fan-voted awards show hosted by Queen Latifah. In recent weeks, Swift has spent more New York City date nights in the spotlight and traveled with fiancé Travis Kelce to Cleveland for an NBA playoff game between the New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers.
