Showing that you are never too young or old to play golf, 10-year-old Tilly Greatrex and 87-year-old Carol Perks were drawn together for the Mixed Greemsomes competition at Rushmere Golf Course on Sunday, May 17.
In Greensomes golf, a two-player team will each take a tee shot at the start of each hole. They then select the best of the two drives, then keep playing that remaining ball as a team, alternating each shot.
Both Tilly and Carol had a male partner and took it in turns with to play alternative shots throughout the competition.

Tilly, from Rushmere, started playing aged two years ago at the age of eight, while former teacher Carol began in 1974 when she joined Rushmere Golf Club.
She was delighted to play with one of the course’s youngest members.
Carol, who was previously head of PE at Ipswich Girls High School, said: “It was fantastic to play with Tilly, she has a lovely swing.
“I think it just shows you can play the sport at any age, even with a 77 year age gap.”
This was Tilly’s first competition and she is one of around 50 junior members at Rushmere Golf Club.
She said: “It was only the second time I have walked a full eighteen.
“Everyone was very friendly and I would like to play more competitions this summer and get my handicap down.”
Carol and her partner won the Hansbro Shield with a score of 42 stableford points.
Golf has been played on Rushmere Heath since the late 1800s when it was the home of the Ipswich Golf Club.
In 1927 when the majority of the members elected to move to nearby privately owned land a public appeal and donations from founder members led to Rushmere Golf Club being formed.
The club is set to celebrate its centenary next year.
