A major road in Toxteth has been closed following a two-car crash this evening. Emergency services were called to Princes Road at around 6.10pm on Wednesday, May 27, following reports of a crash involving a red Kia and a silver Ford Fiesta.
A witness said around eight police vehicles attended the scene, along with three ambulances and a fire engine. Merseyside Police confirmed both drivers suffered minor injuries in the crash. The force said the road remains closed while the damaged vehicles are recovered.
Images from the scene show a police cordon in place, with a red Kia sustaining significant damage to its bonnet.
Traffic monitoring site Inrix reported: “Princes Road westbound closed with traffic congestion due to an accident from North Hill Street to Upper Warwick Street.”

Drivers are currently being diverted around the roundabout near Princes Park.
