Long queues have now cleared on the M5 near Bristol following a crash involving several vehicles.

Delays of 45 minutes were reported on the northbound side of the motorway this evening (Friday, May 29) near the Almondsbury Interchange.

National Highways advised via X shortly after 6.30pm: “The #M5 in #Somerset is blocked northbound between J15 #Almondsbury & J14 #Thornbury due to a multi-vehicle collision.

“@ASPolice & @swasFT are en route. Current delays of 45 minutes and 3 miles of congestion on approach.”

Traffic-monitoring site Inrix reported: “M5 Northbound blocked, severe delays due to multi-vehicle accident from J15 M4 J20 (Almondsbury Interchange) to J14 B4509 (Thornbury / Falfield). Congestion to J17 (Cribbs Causeway).”

Delays have now cleared and all lanes have reopened.
