Charlie ‘Chuck’ Livesey (age 86) was an Ulverston stalwart for many decades and ended his career, playing well into his late forties.
Chuck was hard as nails and led from the front in some very good Ulverston teams, and he was a proud man when he played alongside his late son Jonathan for the Dragley Beck side.
Chuck’s funeral was well attended on Tuesday.
John ‘Spiller’ May (age 93) was another hard forward who took no prisoners like Chuck Livesey.
He played in a Walney team that had amateur internationals in the likes of Gordon Westwood, Hughie Rea, Harold Studley and Colin Lavery
His funeral takes place at the Trevelyan on Monday, at 11.30am.
