This is the moment an orca leapt out of the water near a boat sailing off the Northumberland Coast. Passengers on the Billy Shiel Farne Islands boat trip were treated to an incredible sight when a pod of approximately six orcas were spotted close to the boat.

But the moment became even more impressive when one of the orcas breached the water in front of around 150 passengers, who gasped and cheered in amazement. The moment was captured by Jake Tiffin, who was on the boat at the time, before being shared to Billy Shiel Farne Islands Boats Facebook page.

It prompted comments from some people who claimed that the footage was so impressive that they would have thought it was AI had it not been posted by the well-established local business, which was founded back in 1918.

It’s the fourth consecutive year Orcas have been spotted off the Northumberland Coast. A pod of around eight to 10 orcas were also spotted by crew fishing for lobsters and crabs around four miles off Seahouses in April.
