Release is accompanied by moving music video filmed inside Scunthorpe’s steelworks

Scunthorpe singer-songwriter Will Parker has released a powerful new single, a tribute to his home town. The track Nobody Can Know arrives as a follow-up to his debut Mindless State, continuing the emergence of one of the UK’s most exciting new voices.
With Nobody Can Know, Parker delivers his most personal and timely statement yet. Accompanied by a moving music video, filmed inside Scunthorpe’s steelworks, the historic lifeblood of the town’s industry and economy, the release arrives amid intense national attention on the future of British steel production and the livelihoods tied to it.
A love letter to his home town, the track captures the pride, resilience and identity of a working-class community shaped by generations of steelmaking, while reflecting Parker’s own experiences growing up in Scunthorpe. Signed to Capitol Records, Parker has quickly built momentum across radio, streaming, live and social platforms, with his debut making an immediate national impact and introducing an artist defined by raw honesty, emotional depth and a deep connection to his roots.
Following the release of Mindless State – a bold and deeply personal debut – Will received his first ever spin on BBC Radio 1 via Jess Iszatt’s Introducing show. Jess said: “What a voice, this one really stopped me in my tracks”.
Further support, alongside playlisting across more than 40 regional stations, local press support, and Record of the Week status at Eirewave, helped establish Mindless State as one of the standout independent debuts of recent months. Dean Jackson, of BBC Introducing East Midlands, declared it an “extraordinary debut”.
The single has since earned support from Spotify and Amazon Music, while Parker’s debut home town headline show at The Beckwood in Scunthorpe sold out, following his first support tour with Seb Lowe. Raised in Scunthorpe, Parker brings a rare authenticity to his music, shaped by small-town life and real-world experience.
Before stepping into the spotlight, he was working on a building site alongside his dad – where his voice first caught widespread attention online. A viral TikTok clip, showing him singing on the job, revealed a talent impossible to ignore: raw, soulful, and instantly captivating.

Though this marks only his second release, Parker has been honing his craft for years, from local theatre groups to busking in pubs with friends, and later collaborating with musicians and producers who share his ambition. These experiences have culminated in debut songs that feel both personal, yet widely relatable.
Parker will be supporting Andrew Cushin at The Polar Bear Music Club in Hull on Wednesday, June 10.
