Katherine Kelly first gained recognition as Becky McDonald in Coronation Street, but has since enjoyed a flourishing career in television and film.
She’s starred in numerous hit shows such as Happy Valley, and is now set to appear in the new Channel 4 thriller In Flight, premiering on Tuesday, 12 August.
In this six-part crime drama, Katherine takes centre stage as Jo, a flight attendant and single mum entangled in drug smuggling. She shares the screen with notable actors like Stuart Martin from Babylon and Ashley Thomas from Top Boy.

Hailing from Barnsley in South Yorkshire, Katherine spent her childhood between there and the United States, reports the Express.
She has a younger sister, Gracie Kelly, who is also an actress and has featured in productions such as Anne, Love, Lies and Records, and To Walk Invisible: The Bronte Sisters.
Their father John founded The Lamproom Theatre in Barnsley in 1998, and over the years, Katherine has frequently supported fundraising events at the venue.
The star honed her acting skills at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, graduating in 2001. She studied alongside fellow actors Anna Hope, Meredith MacNeill and Elliot Cowan.

Katherine is famed for her role as Becky McDonald in ITV’s Coronation Street, appearing from 2006 to 2012. Her time on the soap saw her win several awards, including a National Television Award.
After leaving Weatherfield in 2012, Katherine has enjoyed huge success in theatre and various television shows.
She played Lady Mae in Mr Selfridge, DI Jodie Shackleton in Happy Valley, and Miss Andrea Quill in Class. Viewers may also recognise her as Jane Lowry in Strike Back and DCI Natalie Hobbs in Criminal: UK.
In recent years, she has portrayed Sally Wright in Innocent and Angela van Den Bogerd in ITV’s drama Mr Bates vs The Post Office.
Earlier this year, she appeared in The Crow Girl and is currently lighting up screens in Channel 4’s In Flight.

Off-screen, Katherine is happily dating Tony Pitts, with their romance beginning in November 2022.
The smitten pair often share snaps on social media and have been spotted at red carpet events like the BAFTAs.
Tony, an actor and screenwriter, is best known for his role as Archie Brooks in ITV’s Emmerdale from 1983 to 1993, a character who met his end in the infamous Emmerdale plane crash.
He has also appeared in popular shows such as The Bill, EastEnders, Heartbeat, Peaky Blinders and Line of Duty.
Before finding love with Tony, Katherine was married to Ryan Clark. The couple tied the knot in Las Vegas in 2013, but sadly announced their separation in August 2020.
Katherine has two daughters with her former partner Ryan.
