A rumored new LEGO Death Star set has been confirmed in leaked images that have been posted online and shared by IGN. The images show that the set, which is rumored to cost over $1,000, will be made up of 9,023 pieces. This piece count will make it the fourth-largest LEGO set ever created, with the 11,000-piece LEGO World Map still safely in first place.

The images were posted on X, giving the first glimpse of what this enormous set will look like.

Rather than being a full spherical model of the Death Star, such as the one dropped and smashed by Ned in Spider-Man, this huge piece will, instead, be a ‘slice’ of Death Star, showing a cross section of the massive Imperial Battle Station that can be displayed. Chambers within the diorama include famous scenes from the movies, including the Superlaser and gunner station, Trash Compactor, Imperial board room, and holding cell escape. There is also a turbolift station going down to each level – though no detail on whether it is functional or not.
Â
Â
The set features a mix of scenes from the movies, incorporating both the original Death Star and Death Star II from Return of the Jedi, with scenes including the Hangar Bay (complete with Lambda-class shuttle) and the Emperor’s throne room, complete with the Emperor’s purple-clad advisors, a brand new minifigure.
Â
Speaking of minifigures, the set appears to have a huge range of characters from across the movies, including multiple versions of Han, Luke, Leia and Chewbacca that can be used across the various scenes, as well as villain characters in the Emperor, Darth Vader, Grand Moff Tarkin, Colonel Yularen, Admiral Motti and General Tagge. Rogue One also appears to be getting some love with Death Star designers Galen Erso and Orson Krennic making an appearance.
Â
Â
As well as key characters, expect a slew of Stormtroopers, which will also include a hot tub Stormtrooper variant for typical LEGO levity, Death Star gunners, Royal Guards and more which can be used to bring movie scenes to life across the massive battle station.
Â
No details yet as to when this set will release or the final costs but estimates say it will be at least £1,000. Whether the set is worth the price tag is up to you, but there’s no denying that it is most impressive.
