‘Temu Tom’ makes an appearance’Tom Hardly’ spotted at a Stockport barbers
We’ve had Kate Moss lookalike cause a storm at the Ancoats Aldi, but now people have been scratching their heads after thinking they’d seen Tom Hardy in Stockport.
A post has gone viral on social media claiming the Hollywood actor, who has appeared on screen in Venom, Peaky Blinders, and Capone, had paid a visit to a barbers in the town centre.
Filmed inside the Royal Barber shop, on Princes Street in the town centre, the post was captioned: “Tom Hardy in Stockport. What the hell.” It added: “Tom Hardy was in the barbers today whilst filming for Venom 4. What a lad he was. So happy to speak to us.”

However, of course, all was not as it seemed with the man in question being just a very good lookalike. First posted on Facebook by Full Time Favourites, the rouse was rumbled pretty much immediately.
In the comments, one person responded: “Temu Tom.” Another joked: “Dom Tardy.” Keeping the puns rolling, another said:” Tom Softy.” One other wrote: “Tom Hardly.” Other people said they were refusing to fall for the stunt.

Jon Carroll, who runs the Full Time Favourites page, said he had been inside the barbers at the time of filming and said he had noticed how the customer, who he said was named Declan, looked so distinct to the actor. With his permission, he filmed it as an opportunity to promote the local barbershop business.
“I go in there all the time,” Jon explained. “I got speaking to this guy and I just told him how much he looked like Tom Hardy and he laughed and said he gets it all the time. It was all very tongue-in-cheek, it was just a bit of fun and nothing serious.”
Sharing the video last night (June 10), Jon – who runs the page with his wife Sarah – said they woke up this morning to an influx of notifications of people making jokes about the video and sharing it around. As of Thursday morning, the clip has been watched over 330,000 times.

“It’s gone a bit insane, definitely,” Jon laughed. “I actually ended up having a chat about TikTok with the guy so I’ve shared it with him and he’s loving the fame already. He said he’s been loving the comments – he hasn’t taken them to heart.
“Some people have actually been believing it – but we’re not really trying to dupe anyone. Venom 4 isn’t even being made, Tom Hardy’s in Rome!
“I just saw it as the ideal opportunity to spread some love for the businesses in Stockport. Everything we do tries to support the area, we love Stockport but we do like to have a laugh. People have believed us before when we told them they were filming Finding Nemo 2 in the Mersey.
“The barbers are actually great, I go there every week for a face massage – it’s the best thing ever. I think Stockport is the best town on earth, the people here are a real salt of the earth.
“Like the football club, Stockport feels like it was on the down for a while but it’s really on the up – there’s so many great things happening here and it’s all being done up. We absolutely love championing Stockport – even if it’s through sharing videos of a man who looks just a little bit like Tom Hardy!”
