Two obvious candidates come to mind.
Steven gerrard has enjoyed title success with Rangers before and was given time and patience to rebuild a squad capable of taking on Celtic.
He’s currently out of work and held talks before Rohl got the nod. It will be interesting to see if his thoughts have shifted since.
The other is Derek McInnes.
The former Rangers midfielder took Hearts to within three minutes of the Premiership title and would seem an obvious choice.
Getting him might be easier said than doen however.
Having lost captain and top scorer Lawrence Shankland to gers on a free, the Jambos will be keen to avoid losing another key figure to the team that finished below them in the table.
McInnes has said more than ocne he’s excited by what he feels is possible at Tynecatsle with Tony Bloom and Jamestown Analytics backing him.
