His new work, Everything That Is Not Everything Else has been chosen for the academy’s Summer Exhibition.
Unlike traditional artworks, this piece is a concept.
Mr Costello said: “The work is an idea my head, that is now in yours”
He expressed his pleasure at having his work selected by a panel of Royal Academicians, led by Ryan Gander, and looks forward to engaging visitors in the exhibition space.
Mr Costello, who is an award-winning artist and a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors, resides and works in Lowestoft.
He is the director of the 303 Projects Contemporary Art Gallery on London Road South and a part-time art and photography teacher at Cliff Park School in Gorleston.
The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition is set to open from June 16 to August 23 at Burlington House, Piccadilly, London.
It will be open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm, with extended hours on Fridays, closing at 9pm.
