Courteney Cox was the proudest mom as she celebrated her daughter Coco’s 22nd birthday on June 13. The Friends alum—who shares her only child with ex-husband David Arquette—posed for a sweet moment with her rarely-seen daughter as she paid tribute to her “life teacher.”
Cox revealed her adorable nickname for Coco in an Instagram post shared on Saturday. “Happy birthday Co. You are such a wise soul,” she wrote. The star called her daughter the “funniest person I know and my life teacher.” Cox signed off her birthday tribute, “I love you x,” with three lemon emojis.

In the carousel, Coco wore a black asymmetrical Star Wars T-shirt that bared one shoulder and her alien chest tattoo. The 22 year old wore her golden brown hair parted down the middle in a sleek straight style, showing off her freckles and fresh-faced glam. Meanwhile, Cox posed cheek-to-cheek with her daughter in a burgundy red tank top with a ruched design and spaghetti straps. She added some subtle shine to her look with layers of dainty gold chain necklaces and large gold hoop earrings. The Scream actress styled her chest-long dark brown hair in soft curls and accentuated her features with a rose gold eyeshadow and a soft pink flush on her cheekbones and lips.

In a second throwback photo taken from a tropical destination, Cox posed in a blue and brown striped string bikini as she held her daughter while wading in the crystal clear water. Coco, who wore a hot pink and orange one-piece swimsuit, could be seen with blonde hair as a child as she embraced her mom.

Arquette, who finalized his divorce from Cox in 2013 after 11 years of marriage, also shared a birthday shout-out to his daughter on Instagram. The Never Been Kissed actor posted a close-up photo of Coco laughing at something off-screen, writing, “I’m so proud to be your papa @cocoarquette_ Happy 22nd Birthday! I know this is going to be a magical world.”
Like Cox, Arquette also shared another photo dump featuring a present-day moment with his mini-me daughter as well as several throwback moments from when she was a child. In the first photo, the actor could be seen wearing a gray plaid blazer with a white ruffled dress shirt as he posed with Coco, who was dressed in a black and white polka-dotted dress. She added a pop of color with her bright red lipstick and a matching red leather shoulder bag.
