Firefighters tackle blaze at Waitrose supermarket in Hove

Crews from Brighton, Eastbourne, Hove and West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service attended the scene.

Firefighters fought the flames with three main jets, according to ESFRS.

Meanwhile, several fire engines were pictured responding to the incident.

The service said in an update at 08:00 crews were damping down hot spots, cutting away and ventilating the property.

It added an hour later that four fire engines were at the scene with crews using positive pressure ventilation fans for smoke clearance.
